Boulder is Aspen’s Hip Cousin
Boulder is Aspen’s hip cousin. Located just 45 minutes from Denver International Airport. Boulder’s vibrant city is easily accessible from all over the world. Home to the University of Colorado Boulder, this hidden gem of a city attracts eco-conscious, outdoorsy students as well as urbanites who have given up their suits for fleece. Moreover, the relaxed atmosphere has attracted first class chefs who come to make a name for themselves, creating trendy restaurants with healthy, organic fare to suit every diet.
Boulder’s Outdoor Playground Perfect for Girls Fall Getaway
Outdoor enthusiasts love Boulder’s outdoor playground. With the iconic Flatirons set in the background, Boulder offers them a multitude of activities at their fingertips. Mother nature cooperates as well, with the sun shining roughly 300 days a year highlighting pretty blue skies! From hiking to skiing, gliding to horseback riding, if you can imagine it, then you can probably do it in Boulder! For hikers, several trails and parks exist, depending on your hiking level and interests. We hit Mount Sanitas and hiked up daily to experience beautiful views of the city.
Calling All Shoppers
Calling all shoppers! You wouldn’t consider Boulder a serious shopping destination, but you can think again! In addition to several shopping malls, downtown Boulder’s outdoor Pearl Street Mall district is home to over 150 stores! Here, you’ll find a wonderful mix of high end fashion, outdoor apparel, artwork, and cool, funky stores ready to welcome you. Great quality with a relaxed feel is the general theme of these retailers. You can find your tried and true outdoor enthusiast chains, such as The North Face, Helly Hanson, Patagonia, and Athleta. However, you can also detour into cool, fashionable boutiques with beautiful, curated finds, such as Haven, FreeBird, Weekends, ShoeFly and Cedar & Hyde. Gift shops, health stores, galleries and bookstores are sprinkled in the mix.

In fact, Pearl Street was named by Food & Wine Magazine as one of the 10 Best Foodie Streets in America!
Throughout Boulder, you’ll find award-winning restaurants such as farm-to-table Blackbelly (“Top Chef Season 5″ champion Hosea Rosenberg“) and Oak on Fourteenth (Chef Steven Redzikowski is a James Beard nominee). For an elegant dining experience with stunning views, head to family owned Flagstaff House Restaurant. You will enjoy beautiful dishes from the Chef Tasting Menu or their Four Course Menu. Their service is excellent too!
Finally, for a delightful pitstop on Pearl Street, head to Boulder DushanbeTeahouse for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. This must-see stunning tea house was built by artisans — piece by piece as a gift sent from Tajikistan’s sister city of Dushanbe — and assembled in Boulder. We enjoyed a high tea experience complete with three tiers of afternoon tea delights and a choice of any tea imaginable. Space fills up fast, so it’s best to secure a reservation if possible.
