One of our family favorite shakes is the Banana Date Shake. It’s wholesome and good, with no added sugar except for those from Mother Nature. It is a super quick shake that is easy to make. Plus, when you’re not sure what to do with your surplus bananas, you can whip up this shake with only a few simple ingredients.
The sweetness from the Banana Date Shake comes only from the bananas and dates themselves. Together, they provide a wide range of essential nutrients to your body. Almond butter, almond milk, and ice make up the rest! Simple ingredients and simply delicious! Blend them together in a high speed blender, such as a Vitamix, and you have your shake ready in under a minute!
Bananas Are Rich In Nutrients
Bananas are rich in nutrients. They are a good source of potassium, fiber, vitamin C, and vitamin B6. They are inexpensive and heart healthy!
Dates are Nature’s Healthy Candy
I always buy a box of dates and have it ready to go in the freezer to have on hand for recipes. Dates are naturally high in fiber and antioxidants. However, they are not something you want to eat a large amount of due to their higher calorie count. This shake calls for pitted dates, which saves the step of removing the pit and only uses two small pitted dates for the whole shake. So it’s a small amount and just enough to provide some sweetness. The bits of date that you get are quite a sweet “surprise” in your mouth!
Banana Date Shake Boosts Energy
The Banana Date Shake is refreshing and tasty for breakfast or an afternoon snack, giving you a quick energy boost. They also contain complex carbohydrates and almond butter that can help sustain energy levels for longer periods of time and keep blood sugar stable. The natural sweetness of the bananas and dates makes this shake a healthier alternative to other sugary drinks, which can help you curb your sugar cravings.
Pop your ingredients in the blender and whip up the Banana Date Shake. It’s a satisfying drink you will make over and over again! Pour it into a cute glass with a reusable straw. Top it off with any optional sprinkles of either unsweetened cocoa powder, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice or cardamom! Perfect on its own too! Enjoy your treat!
