2 Nonstick pan, small
1 Spatula
1 Bowl
- 4-6 oz. Lean ground turkey
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 Avocado, sliced
- 1 Brioche bun
- 1 slice Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp. Dried basil
- 1/4 tsp. Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. Dried thyme leaves
- Watercress
- 1 tsp. Olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Pesto Aioli (optional)
- 1 tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1/2 tbsp. pesto sauce
- 1/4 slice lemon (juice squeezed)
Add ground turkey to bowl and mix in dry spices, salt and pepper. Prepare seasoned ground turkey into a round patty. Add olive oil to nonstick pan. Add turkey burger patty to pan and cook on medium heat. Once burger starts to sizzle, add top to pan and continue to cook, flipping once each side is browned and turkey burger cooked through. Turn off heat and top burger with cheddar cheese slice and keep top on while cheese melts. In the meantime, fry your egg in the second pan with a little olive oil, keeping the yolk in tact and preparing it sunny side up (no flipping necessary). Lightly toast your brioche bun and prepare optional pesto aioli spread. Spread pesto aioli over top of bun if desired. On bottom half of bun, add burger with melted cheese, fried egg and then proceed to top with sliced avocado and watercress. Enjoy!
TIPS:
Keto-friendly: Swap out brioche bun for iceberg or boston lettuce and make a lettuce wrap burger!
Dairy-Sensitive: Easily eliminate the cheddar cheese!
